Ingredients
  • 1 stick butter (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • .5 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 ounces rum (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • .5 cups brown sugar
  • .5 cups walnuts (optional)
Description

I modified this recipe because the original I got was kind of boring. My version is way better!

Instructions
  1. Pre-heat over to 350°F
  2. Using a stand mixer, cream together butter and sugar until mixture of fluffy
  3. Add eggs
  4. In a separate bowl mix together sour cream and baking soda
  5. In another bowl, mix together flour, baking powder and salt
  6. Turn stand mixer on low and alternately pour a little of each sour cream and flour mixtures into mixer
  7. Once contents of all bowls are incorporated, add vanilla
    Add rum if you are using it
  8. Pour 1/2 of mixture into greased bundt pan
    You can use a cake pan, but the middle may be undercooked and the edge overcooked. It's better to make muffins if you don't have a bundt pan.
  9. In a small bowl, mix cinnamon, brown sugar
    All walnuts if you're using them. Pecans would also work here.
  10. Spread half of cinnamon/brown sugar mixture over batter
  11. Pour rest of batter into pan
  12. Spread rest of cinnamon/brown sugar mixture on top
  13. Bake for until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean - about 45 minutes.
