Cookie Icing

Similar to royal icing, but this uses corn syrup instead of eggs.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 2 tsp milk (or heavy cream)
  • 2 tsp corn syrup (light is preferred)
  • .25 tsp vanilla extract (almond is a good replacement)
  • 5 drop food coloring (optional)
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, stir together confectioners' sugar and milk until smooth. Beat in corn syrup and almond extract until icing is smooth and glossy. If icing is too thick, add more corn syrup.

  2. Divide into separate bowls, and add food coloring to each to desired intensity.
