I got this recipe from a work colleague and it turned out great!
Coffee Cake
Description
I modified this recipe because the original I got was kind of boring. My version is way better!

Pre-heat over to 350°F

Using a stand mixer, cream together butter and sugar until mixture of fluffy

Add eggs

In a separate bowl mix together sour cream and baking soda

In another bowl, mix together flour, baking powder and salt

Turn stand mixer on low and alternately pour a little of each sour cream and flour mixtures into mixer

Once contents of all bowls are incorporated, add vanilla
Add rum if you are using it -
Pour 1/2 of mixture into greased bundt pan
You can use a cake pan, but the middle may be undercooked and the edge overcooked. It's better to make muffins if you don't have a bundt pan. -
In a small bowl, mix cinnamon, brown sugar
All walnuts if you're using them. Pecans would also work here. -
Spread half of cinnamon/brown sugar mixture over batter

Pour rest of batter into pan

Spread rest of cinnamon/brown sugar mixture on top

Bake for until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean - about 45 minutes.
